Purdue University Northwest Athletics is pleased to announce the promotion of Courtney Locke to Senior Associate Athletic Director.
Locke brings 18 years of coaching and administrative experience, including 13 years at the NCAA Division I level. She has served four years in senior administrative roles at Purdue Northwest, including Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives and Senior Woman Administrator.
"Courtney's promotion to Senior Associate Athletic Director is a direct reflection of her leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to our student-athletes," said Rick Costello, Director of Athletics. "She has played a vital role in advancing strategic initiatives, prioritizing student-athlete wellness and strengthening our athletic programs. Courtney brings a combination of administrative expertise, coaching experience and genuine passion for developing young people, and we are fortunate to have her leadership as we continue to move Purdue Northwest Athletics forward."
As Senior Associate Athletics Director, Courtney Locke will lead the NCAA compliance oversight for Purdue University Northwest, including rules education, certification of eligibility and amateurism, financial aid, awards and benefits, and outside competition. In addition, she will manage recruiting and official visits, the transfer portal, countable athletic related activity, seasons of participation, camps and clinics.

"I am incredibly grateful to Rick Costello for his leadership, mentorship, and continued belief in me, and I look forward to continuing to serve our department and student-athletes in this expanded capacity."
In her most recent position, Locke served as a sports supervisor, led game-day event management and coordinated team fundraising. She oversaw student-athlete wellness initiatives that include mental health education, alcohol awareness, and sexual violence prevention training. Her extensive leadership involvement includes serving on the PNW Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee, Compliance Committee, New Student Orientation Committee, the GLIAC Student-Athlete Success Committee, and as Advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
In addition to her administrative duties, Locke served as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Purdue Northwest from 2019 to 2024. She was also served as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at the University of Hawaii, UT-San Antonio, Central Florida, UC Santa Barbara, and Lipscomb University. Locke was a four-year letter winner under legendary head coach C. Vivian Stringer at Rutgers University. She helped lead the Scarlet Knights to a pair of Big East regular season Championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances, an Elite Eight appearance in 2005 and Sweet Sixteen showing in 2006.
