Purdue University Northwest DI Hockey goaltender Cooper Olson (Maple Grove, Minn./) has been recognized with ACHA DI Hockey Honorable Mention All-American honors, capping off a standout 2024-25 season that solidified his reputation as one of the top net minders in the country.
Olson's play between the pipes was nothing short of elite. Appearing in 22 games for the Pride, Olson posted a record of 11-8-1 with five shutouts, finishing the season with a sparkling 1.95 goals against average (GAA) and an impressive .938 save percentage (Top 10 in DI). Over 1,295 minutes of ice time, he stopped 632 shots and allowed just 42 goals, anchoring a Purdue Northwest team that battled through a highly competitive GL6 Conference schedule.
His consistent dominance in goal was key to the Pride's success all season long. Olson's five shutouts were among the best in the ACHA, and his sub-2.00 GAA and top-tier save percentage placed him firmly among the nation's elite in nearly every statistical category.
But Olson's achievements weren't limited to the collegiate stage.
This past winter, the junior net minder had the honor of representing Team USA at the World University Games in Torino Italy. As part of the United States Men's National University Team, Olson joined a select group of ACHA standouts competing on the international stage. The experience added to his growing résumé and gave him the opportunity to compete against some of the best university-level talent in the world, further cementing his status as a rising star in American collegiate hockey.
Olson's leadership, poise, and performance throughout the season made him one of the most respected and reliable goaltenders in the GL6 Conference and across all of ACHA Division I hockey. Whether it was a crucial conference match up or a non-league tilt, Olson consistently gave the Pride a chance to win with his sharp reflexes, calm presence, and ability to rise to the moment.
As Purdue Northwest looks ahead to the 2025-26 season, Olson's return between the pipes will no doubt be a cornerstone of their plans for another deep run. With national honors, international experience, and elite-level stats to his name, Cooper Olson's (Maple Grove, Minn./) star is still on the rise—and the ACHA has taken notice.
