Purdue University Northwest (PNW) Athletics has announced a leadership change within its Cross Country and Track & Field programs.

"I am grateful for Coach Tommy Whittaker's dedication to the Purdue Northwest Cross Country and Track & Field programs," said Rick Costello, Director of Athletics. "His contributions to PNW Athletics are appreciated and I wish Coach Whittaker all the best in his future endeavors."

Under the leadership of Coach Whittaker, the Purdue Northwest Cross Country and Track & Field teams made strides including multiple championship performances in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  Among his achievements, Whittaker led Purdue Northwest student-athletes to several top finishes at the GLIAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships and coached JC Ramirez (Odessa, Texas/Odessa) and D'Shawn Dorsey (South Holland, Ill./Thornwood) to the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 2024.

A national search for the next head coach of the PNW Cross Country and Track & Field programs will begin immediately.
