Purdue Northwest Baseball senior Drake Ballard (Louisville, Ky./Martha Laynes Collins) was recently recognized for contributions in the community.

Ballard was honored with the Youth Volunteer Award at the Mayor's Commission on Disabilities 39th Annual Awards Breakfast. The ceremony honors and recognizes youth, adults, and organizations who reach out and make a difference regardless of a disability.

Ballard is known for his hard-work and dedication to those with disabilities and continues to volunteer in the Special Olympics.
