Men's Golf take 7th place in Al Watrous Invitational to open up season

This Saturday and Sunday the Purdue Northwest men's golf team headed to Sawmill Golf Club in Freeland, Michigan to compete in the 2024 Al Watrous Invitational to kick off the 2024 Season. At the event the Pride would take 7th place out of 14 total teams shooting a combine school of 603 (305-298). Finn Kiger (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point High School) would lead the Pride with an 8th place finish shooting a 144 (74-70).
 
The Basics
  • The event took place at Sawmill Golf Club in Freeland, Michigan
  • The event was hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.
  • Wayne State emerged as the victors of the Invitational, posting a combined 573 (290-283).   
 
The Players
  • Finn Kiger (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point High School) finished in 8th place with a total score of 144, shooting rounds of 74 and 70.
  • Nicholas Alvarez (Clearfield, Utah/Clearfield) tied for 21st place with a total score of 149, shooting rounds of 76 and 73.
  • Jack Glaspy (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) tied for 45th place with a total score of 156, shooting rounds of 76 and 80.
  • Brody Pass (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) tied for 45th place with a total score of 156, shooting rounds of 80 and 76.
  • Brady Serafin (Beecher, Ill./Beecher) tied for 52nd place with a total score of 158, shooting rounds of 79 and 79.
  • Andrew Remer finished tied for 69th place with a total score of 169, shooting rounds of 93 and 76.
Up Next
The golf team is set to resume competition on Monday, September 16th, in Big Rapids, Michigan, participating in the Bulldog Fall. Tee off is slated for 9:00 AM.
