#18 DI Hockey drops two road games #11 Maryville

The #18 Purdue Northwest ACHA DI Hockey dropped two tough road games at #11 Maryville over the past weekend. The Pride fell in Game 1, 6-2, and then in the second game, 4-1.

Game 1
Inside The Numbers
  • Freshman Mason Cole (Saginaw, Mich.) and sophomore Ryan Kerr (Redford, Mich./) each led the Pride with one goal.
  • Junior Hayden Masloski (Andover, Minn./), junior Andrew Remer (Lake Orion, Mich./), and freshman Baden Powell (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) each added one assist for Purdue Northwest.
  • Junior Cooper Olson (Maple Grove, Minn./) played the first 30 minutes between the pipes for the Pride and recorded 26 saves.
  • Sophomore Elias Johannson came in for Purdue Northwest to play the final 30 minutes in net and made 21 saves.

The Breakdown

  • The Pride broke the scoreless tie in the beginning of the second period to go up 1-0.

  • Junior Michael Clough (Andover, Minn./) added one assist during the game for Purdue Northwest.
  • Junior Isaac Hyde (Ft. Wayne, Ind./) earned his first start of the 2024-25 season playing all 60 minutes between the pipes for the Pride and recorded 20 saves.
  • Will Smith led the Saints scoring one goal and notching an assist.
  • Bain stared once again in goal for the Saints playing all 60 minutes and made 28 saves to help tally the win.
The Breakdown
  • Maryville grabbed the early lead scoring in the first three minutes of the game to go up 1-0 and then scored late in the first period to take a 2-0 advantage after one.
  • The Saints tallied two more scores in the second period to increase their lead to 4-0 going into the third.
  • The Pride scored their lone goal late in the third but fell ultimately in the end, 4-1.
