DI Hockey dominates in season opener against Aurora

The Purdue Northwest ACHA DI Hockey team dominated in their season opener against Aurora University on Saturday afternoon, 7-0.

Inside The Numbers
  • Junior Craig Herman (Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS) led Purdue Northwest with two goals and one assist.
  • Freshman Michael Clough (Andover, Minn.) had one goal and two assists.
  • Freshman Hayden Mosloski (Andover, Minn.) and freshman Sam Bourdages (Hearst, Ontario/) each earned one goal and one assist during the game.
  • Senior Brandon Prodoehl (Munster, Ind./Munster HS) and junior Duncan McCourt (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community HS) each chipped in one goal for the squad.
  • Freshman Carter Hobbs (Des Moines, Iowa) added two assists on the afternoon.
  • Freshman Cooper Olson (Maple Grove, Minn.) played all 60 minutes in goal for the Pride and pitched his first shut-out of the season with 14 saves.
  • Skylar Coard made 50 saves for Aurora.
The Breakdown
  • The Pride lit up the scoreboard in the first period scoring five goals to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
  • Herman added a goal in the second period for the Pride and increase to 6-0.
  • Purdue Northwest added the final goal in the third period off a shot from Masloski to win the game, 7-0.
  • The Pride out shot Aurora 50-14.
  • Purdue Northwest finished 1 for 6 in power play opportunities.
