PNW falls to DePaul in series opener at The Kube

Box Score HAMMOND, Ind. – The Purdue Northwest D2 men's ice hockey team hosted its first game of 2022 Friday night against DePaul. The visiting Blue Demons came out on top 6-2 in the series opener at The Kube.
 
PNW moved to 12-12 on the season while DePaul improved to 15-10. The two teams will meet again on the same ice tomorrow for a 3 p.m. puck drop.

After a scoreless opening period, the Blue Demons took a 2-1 lead in the second frame with PNW's lone goal coming from Craig Herman (Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS). Cole Bocock (Griffith, Ind./Munster HS) earned the assist on Herman's tally at the 9:03 mark which tied the score at 1-1.

PNW's second goal of the night came at 6:45 in the third period with Ryan Butt (Homer Glen, Ill./Marist HS) dishing the assist to Xaver Emslander (Germany).

Goalie Curtis Campbell (Oshawa, Ontario/Maxwell Heights HS) drew the start between the pipes for the Pride.

UP NEXT
PNW and DePaul will play at 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon inside The Kube. The Pride are slated to host Wisconsin-Oshkosh next weekend in the final home games of the season.
