Box Score WEST DUNDEE, Ill. – The Purdue University Northwest ACHA D2 men's ice hockey team overcame a 2-1 deficit on the road to defeat ACHA D1 Northern Illinois in Friday's overtime shootout at the Canlan Sports ice rink.

Goaltender Kyle Fritz earned the victory between the pipes for the Pride with 47 saves.

PNW got on the board first with Brandon McNeal's goal early in the second period. Then, the host Huskies scored two unanswered to claim the 2-1 lead going into the third.

The Pride got the equalizer in the third when Craig Herman fed Brandon Prodoehl to win a two-on-one rush down the ice. Herman crossed the puck from the right wing to the slot, where Prodoehl easily tapped in for the goal.

With the teams even at 1-1 in the best of three shootout, Herman deposited his shootout attempt into the back of the net. Fritz came up with the save on NIU's final attempt to seal the win.
