PNW falls in second matchup with Concordia Wisconsin, 4-3

HAMMOND, Ind. – Purdue Northwest met Concordia Wisconsin on the ice Saturday for a second matchup in less than 24 hours, and this time around the Falcons won by a final score of 4-3.
 
Craig Herman, who came in fresh off a hat-trick performance, found the back of the net for a power-play equalizer early in the third period to bring the momentum back in PNW's favor.
 
The goal came in just the third minute of the final period and tied the score at 3-3 after the Pride had trailed 3-1 in the second. Herman ran his season points total to 4-3-7 which leads the squad through three games.
 
Unfortunately, Concordia Wisconsin would go on to secure the game-winner in the 12th minute.
 
CUW's Trenton Sherman capitalized on a faceoff victory and scored his second goal of the night to lift the Falcons to their second win of the season. Sherman also scored the first CUW goal Falcons which tied the game 1-1 in the first.
 
Goalie Curtis Campbell got his second start in net for the Pride and Ian Robertson earned the win in goal for the Falcons.
 
PNW (1-2) drew first blood for the second night in a row as Cole Bocock found the back of the net. The junior from Griffith, Indiana scored in the third minute off an assist from Brandon Prodoehl.
 
The visitors gained a 3-1 lead with a pair of goals in less than a minute of ice time. Easton Williams scored with 14 seconds left in the first, and then, Liam Butler found the net just 39 seconds into the second period.
 
Newcomer Ryan Butt scored his first goal in the 13th minute to bring the Pride within one as the score remained 3-2 going into the final period. Jeremy Lochow was credited with the assist on Butt's goal and the junior from Homer Glen, Illinois also provided the assist on Herman's equalizer in the third.
 
The Pride fired several pucks on net in the final minutes of the game, but couldn't sneak one through.
 
PNW and Concordia Wisconsin will meet again in Mequon, Wisconsin for the final two games of the regular season on March 26-27.
 
NEXT UP
PNW's road game scheduled at Adrian for tomorrow has been postponed to a later date this season. The Pride will take the ice again on Wednesday when they travel to Trine for a 7:30 p.m. CST puck drop.
