HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest Men's Ice Hockey team opened the Ice Kube with a 12-1 victory over the visiting Butler University Bulldogs in its inaugural game.
Following an opening ceremonial puck-drop with the Kube ownership and Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermett Jr., the Bulldogs scored the first goal. What followed was a barrage of shots and subsequent goals from the Pride.
Alec Curry,
Jeremy Lochow,
Xavier Schell, and Jack Sarczynski all scored multiple goals for PNW. Goalkeeper
Kyle Fritz played all 60 minutes of the game, holding off all but one Butler shot.
The Pride will be back in action on their home ice at the Ice Kube on Friday, January 31 when they will take on Indiana University Northwest.
