Pride Tie with Ashland on Sunday Afternoon

Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio -- In a hard-fought defensive game, the Purdue Northwest Men's Soccer team and the Ashland University Eagles tied after two overtime periods on Sunday, October 27. After the teams' third tie in conference this season, PNW Head Coach Ryan Hayes was proud of the way his players competed against Ashland
 
 "It was a strong defensive performance," said Hayes. "We showed a lot of grit and determination, and for that I am proud of the guys."
 
Stepping up in his second start of the year, freshman goalkeeper Sebastian Contreras (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield Central) was lights out, gathering seven saves and allowing no goals over 110 minutes of play.  Senior midfielder Daniel Freedman (Newcastle, England/Monkseaton Academy) had 26 shots on the season after he notched five shots on Sunday, three of which were on goal.
 
PNW Men's Soccer returns to the field on Friday, November 1 at Dowling Park, when they will welcome Saginaw Valley State.This GLIAC Conference matchup begins at noon (CT).
