Bailey Leads PNW Women’s Golf on Final Day of GLIAC Championship

Nashport, Ohio – Sophomore Lauren Bailey (Wanatah, Ind./Lacrosse) shot a 79 on the final round of the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golf Championship, which led the Purdue Northwest women's golf team Sunday at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. Bailey ended the event with a three-round total of 252 (88, 85, 79).  The Pride finished in 11th place with a team score of 1070 (378, 351, 341) in the three-day tournament.

Freshman Hannah Hyme (Lancaster, Ohio/Bloom-Carroll) shot an 85 on the final day to make her three-round score a 260 (94, 81, 85). Freshman Sydney Valiska (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) shot a 90 in the final round Sunday to finish with a 275 (96, 89, 90).

Sophomore Meaghan Spalla (Crown Point, Ind./Boone Grove) improved once again for the final round hitting an 87 to put her at 285 (102, 96, 87) for the tournament and finishing in 54th place. Freshman Libby Huston (Yale, Mich./Yale) rounded out the Pride scoring finishing in 55th place with a score of 290 (100, 99, 91).

The Purdue Northwest women's golf team finishes its first season in the GLIAC with this weekend's conference championship.
