The Pride (13-16, 11-10 CCAC) capped off its regular season against the Jaguars (11-19, 8-13 CCAC) and will await their opponent for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason tournament.
Junior Torrance Johnson (Chicago Heights, Ill./Chicago Hope Academy) (Chicago Heights, Ill./Chicago Hope Academy) led the Prides offense with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting with 11 rebounds while Tyree Coe (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) connected on a quartet of trifectas for 16 points.
Chandler Spring (Covington, Ind./Covington) (Covington, Ind./Covington) knocked down a trio of three-point field goals and finished with 13 points while Shereff Knight (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) (Michigan City, Ind/Michigan City) came off the bench and scored 11 points to round out the Pride scorers.
The Black and Gold led the Jaguars with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half, with after a Johnson layup but the Pride up 20-19.
GSU would jump out on a 15-2 run led by Jalen Miller to put the Jaguars ahead 34-22 with 6:48 remaining.
Purdue Northwest would fight back and take a 42-41 advantage going in to the break.
After the Jaguars took a 79-71 with just over five minutes remaining in the game, Purdue Northwest would inch its way back and climb within two points, 85-83 with 25 seconds remaining.
GSU would miss the front end of a one-and-one which gave Chandler Spring (Covington, Ind./Covington) the opportunity to knock down the go-ahead three pointer with nine second left to take an 86-85 lead.
With two second remaining, Torrey Oliver would knock down the game winning jumper from just outside the free-throw line and give the Jaguars the 87-86 victory.
Jalen Miller led the Jaguar scorers with 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting while Jalen McGruder chipped in with 17 points to lead GSU.
