Austin Warner

Austin Warner was named the head coach of Purdue Northwest Men's and Women's Cross Country in December 2016 and is entering his third season as the coach.

Warner, a native of Dyer, Ind., came to PNW after serving as an assistant coach for the NCAA Division II Nova Southeastern University (Fla.) cross country and track and field programs from 2013-16. 

In his tenure at Purdue Northwest, both individual school and team records have been broken each year and had the opportunity to host the 2019 GLIAC Cross Country Championships on the PNW Westville campus. In 2019, both the men’s and cross country teams earned USTFCCAA All-Academic Team awards for their achievements in the classroom.

At Nova Southeastern, Warner assisted both the men’s and women’s cross country programs to the NCAA National Championships in addition to coaching two individual qualifiers. In cross country, he helped guide 15 student-athletes to NCAA All-South Region honors and both teams showed success in the classroom, earning USTFCCAA All-Academic Team awards for posting overall team grade point averages of 3.15.

Prior to NSU, Warner served as an assistant for the men’s and women’s cross country programs at Division II Hawaii Pacific in 2012, where in addition to his team duties, he served as the meet manager for the PacWest Conference Championships and the NCAA Division II Regional Championships.

USA Track and Field Level 1 certified, Warner was named the 2016 NCAA Division II Men’s Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year in the South Region.

Warner was a three-time NAIA national qualifier in cross country and four-time qualifier in track and field at Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference member Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Ill. Warner's personal record (PR) for a 5K race is a 14:53 and his best 10K time is 31:59.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise studies at Trinity Christian and attained a master’s of education in athletic administration from Nova Southeastern.
